Life Background

Tan Sri Dato Lee Shin Cheng is a successful local entrepreneur who owns IOI Corporation Berhad. He was born on 3 June 1939 and he came from a very poor family. He grew up in northeast of Kuala Lumpur in a rubber plantation and his father runs a Chinese Sundry Shop inside the rubber plantation. He left school at the age 11 because of his family financial problems. He helped by selling ice cream for 4 years by riding a bicycle, plantation worker and even a pump attendant at a gas station.
